Transferring ACP Credits to Colleges and Universities
Many colleges and universities (especially in Indiana) award transfer credit for ACP courses, assuming a minimum grade was earned. To transfer credit to a college or university, students must request their IU transcript be sent to the college or university. To obtain copies of their ACP transcript students should go to the Student Records website. To learn how IU courses transfer to Indiana colleges and universities, see the TransferIn.net website. There is no guarantee how IU credit will be counted at other institutions because individual universities determine the application of transfer credits. ACP students transferring IU credit are encouraged to seek academic advising at the college or university they plan to attend.
ACP vs. AP (Advanced Placement)
An ACP student is registered in an IU college course and a college grade is entered onto the student's permanent college transcript upon course completion; an AP student is enrolled in a high school college-level class designed to prepare the student to take an examination.
