ACP Essentials

This page provides you with important information regarding ACP courses.

Students who enroll for college credit through ACP are considered IU students & will have an official Indiana University transcript. IU courses offered through ACP are taught during regular school days at your students' high school by ACP certified instructors. For IU course descriptions for ACP classes, click here

Indiana University courses taught through ACP prepare students for the discipline they need to be successful following high school graduation. ACP courses follow a syllabus provided by IU, maintain the same expectations, teach the same content, and give the same college credit as courses taught on IU campuses.

Indiana Residents:

  • Standard tuition rates for ACP courses are $25 per IU credit hour (3-5 credits).

    • There may be extra costs for course materials. Check with course instructor for more information.

    • Tuition is waived for ACP students eligible for free or reduced lunch upon confirmation by high school administrator or their designee.

    • A student who is admitted and enrolled in an IU course through the ACP program agrees to pay the tuition rate for each course and should understand that the enrollment creates a binding, legally enforceable contract.

  • Paper billing statements (via U.S. Mail) are sent to ACP students. Indiana University generates bursar statements electronically and provides the option of Web payments for paying tuition and other charges to students with IU IT accounts.

  • Tuition is waived for ACP students eligible for free or reduced lunch upon confirmation by high school administrator or their designee.

  • To check billing statements, students may login using their IU credentials at one.iu.edu. Search for "bursar" for billing details and payment options.

  • To pay bursar bills without login credentials, click here.
    • Note: You will need your University ID Number (UID) or date of birth, the amount you would like to pay, and know to which campus the ACP course belongs.
    • To verify the amount and/or the campus, contact acp@indiana.edu.

  • The final grade for the IU course, based solely on the IU syllabus and course grade distribution, may differ from the high school course grade.

  • The IU grade falls under FERPA rules; student consent is required to share information.

  • Grades are included on official Indiana University transcripts and become part of students' post secondary record.

Drops and Withdrawals are separate processes. Which action to take depends on the window in which students wish to leave an ACP course.

Drops

  • If within the online enrollment and administrative enrollment adjustment periods, ACP allows students to drop without financial penalty and without effect to their official IU transcript.

  • Students should log on to one.iu.edu to drop the course online if within the online enrollment window.

  • If the online enrollment window has closed, sign your name in the "No" column when your instructor circulates the IU Verification Roster. Or send an email to acp@indiana.edu requesting to be dropped. The email request must be received before the administrative enrollment adjustments period has closed.

  • If the online enrollment window and the administrative enrollment adjustment period have both closed, please see below for the withdrawal process.

Withdrawals

  • After the online enrollment and administrative enrollment adjustment periods have ended, students who wish to withdraw are required to submit a signed Withdrawal Request to ACP. For the Withdrawal Form and more information, click here.

  • The course instructor will notify students of the final date to withdraw from the class. The final date to request withdrawal from the IU roster is stated on the course syllabus.
  • Students who withdraw will have a grade of W reported on their IU transcript and will remain responsible for tuition and additional fees (if applicable).

Credits earned through ACP may be transferred to other colleges and universities. Most ACP courses are part of the Indiana Core Transfer Library, a comprehensive list of courses that are pre-approved for transfer between all Indiana public college and university campuses (assuming adequate grades are earned). Please visit TransferIN.net to verify whether this course is included on this list.
